New terms relating to audio files


Stereo
A system or equipment for reproducing stereophonic sound.

Channel
A path for the transfer of signals or data within a computer or between a computer and its peripheral equipment.

Track
A data-recording path on a storage medium, as a magnetic disk, tape, or drum, that is accessible to a read-write head in a given position as the medium moves past.

Frequency
The number of items occurring in a given category.

Hertz
The SI unit of frequency, equal to one cycle per second. Abbreviation:


Decibel
A unit used to compare two voltages or currents, equal to 20 times the common logarithm of the ratio of the voltages or currents measured across equal resistances. Abbreviation: dB, db

Wav, mp3, aiff
This is a list of different audio files.

These are new terms i learnt relating to audio files.
